How To Install Windows 10 On Acer Laptop
#1
Posted 01 August 2022 - 03:33 PM
I have an erstwhile Acer Aspire M5-581T(K) laptop that is from 2022. It has 6 GB RAM and an i5 Processor, so I figured I would exist able to throw an SSD in and go it upwards and working again fast.
I accept tried 4 SSD difficult drives and they are all declining so it is not a bad SSD. I have been getting errors like to "windows couldn't create a new partition 0x80042556". It also wont permit me employ diskpart to format the SSD because it keeps failing. I am able to format the SSDs in some other computer just when I load it into the Acer information technology says information technology is 0.0MB when information technology should exist 465GB. Is there annihilation else I can do or is it a bad board?
I went through everything in this article and it still dont prepare it - https://appuals.com/fix-nosotros-couldnt-create-a-new-partition-or-locate-an-existing-one/
I as well removed the 20GB Cache SSD considering I idea that was causing the problem. Whatever assist would be appreciated.

Your BIOS images look similar Legacy and not UEFI. Was the reckoner pre-installed with Windows vii?
In your last prototype: Subsequently the diskpart clean command type:
convert MBR
exit
go out
continue with the install and If y'all don't go the hardware error then Windows 10 will automatically create the partitions for you when you click Next. Other than the convert MBR command I don't know why Windows is non allowing you to install to the hard drive as it is detected in BIOS.

Did y'all endeavor to upgrade the BIOS from Windows 8?
It never had Windows 8 on it. I tried to install Windows 7, viii, and 10 and all have failed. I tried to book to Linux cinnamon and install BIOS 2.eleven but that failed also.

This is basically what happens. I take a brand new 480 GB SSD and install it right out of the packaging in to the laptop. I boot to CD and hit install. When I click Side by side I get the first error. When I try to click New I go the 2d error. Does anyone know how to set up this?

Yous need Windows installed to practise the BIOS upgrade it can't be done from Linux.
On the BIOS change from AHCI to another choice and also disable the D2D Recovery option, then try to install Windows 8.i and from there upgrade the BIOS.
With the BIOS upgraded I think y'all will have more options to control UEFI, etc.

You demand Windows installed to do the BIOS upgrade it tin't be washed from Linux.
On the BIOS change from AHCI to another option and besides disable the D2D Recovery choice, so try to install Windows 8.1 and from there upgrade the BIOS.
With the BIOS upgraded I think you will have more than options to control UEFI, etc.
And then I changed SATA from AHCI to IDE and made sure the D2D Reovery was disabled and I am still getting "We couldnt create a new partition. Error 0x80070005" when trying to use diskpart or click next so that it installs windows viii.1 pro 64 bit

0x80070005 is a different mistake. There are whatsoever partitions on the SSD now?
Apply DISKPART like you did before and use the clean control on the drive, restart the computer and endeavour to install without creating any partitions, allow the installer take care of that.

The link https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/64381/guide-install-expresscache-for-ssd-caching on there seems a expert guide about using the 20GB SSD but I don't call up it applies because the OP removed the small SSD/cache.
I besides removed the 20GB Enshroud SSD because I thought that was causing the problem. Whatever help would be appreciated.

I'm wondering if this is a bad install iso or a driver upshot with Windows x.
But for a check I would download the latest Mint Cinnamon distro and use Rufus with the iso to create a bootable USB or burn a DVD. If that allows y'all to install then in that location is some issue with the Windows 10 install media or some driver effect. Select MBR for a sectionalisation scheme in Rufus as your BIOS is Legacy. Go out all other boxes as checked in Rufus.
https://rufus.ie/
https://web log.linuxmint.com/?p=3786
The Error 0x80300002 is often caused past sectionalisation errors or corrupted Windows installation media.....
https://appuals.com/fix-windows-installer-error-0x80300002/
I would download a Windows 10 iso of your version using the Windows iso downloader so use Rufus to make a bootable USB flash drive if Linux can install.

0x80070005 is a different fault. There are any partitions on the SSD now?
Use DISKPART like y'all did before and use the clean control on the drive, restart the computer and try to install without creating whatsoever partitions, let the installer take intendance of that.
I reinstalled that 20GB SSD bc I thought information technology was needed so information technology is back into the laptop.
I tried using DISKPART and clean and make clean all and the installer notwithstanding fails at
"WIndows could not create a partition on disk 0. The error occurred while preparing the partition selected for installation. Error Code: 0x80042556"
I am currently trying a paid version of Windows 8.1 Pro 64Bit with the provided product central that is new.
I have also tried with:
a Windows x All versions disk I accept that I know works on other PCS
a Windows 10 LTSB 64 fleck that I know works on other PCS
a Windows 7 Pro 32 fleck that is bought from Microsfoft years ago. Also works on other laptops.
I have tried various versions on USB sticks that also fail
I know that information technology is not a bad ISO or version of Windows.
